This is a nice, solid pot. It is rather large and heavy but that is to be expected in a quality 5 quart pan. It’s exactly what I was looking for and I’m very happy with it.

I love the way it cooks the food. It cleans up well. I use Bar Keepers Friend one in awhile. I wish I could afford all of them.

We own a large collection of “classic” calphalon pots & pans.
We like them for the durability and great heat dispersion, but they are heavy, the handles get hot, and one of them (after 15 years) appears to have lost the anodized coating off the inside bottom. This 5 quart pan was purchased as a replacement for that pan. What an improvement! The new infused anodizing is lighter and more durable. And the handle stays cool. Totally satisfied with the new calphalon system.

This pan is just a fantastic piece of equipment. It’s really the same form as Calphalon’s 5 quart Dutch Oven, but with a skillet handle on it. This is actually a good thing, as it means you can more easily manage a pot this size on the stove top, and it will still go in the oven if that’s your choice.
It looks great, feels great, is well balanced and cooks wonderfully.
