2 Stars Whistle broke within month
I had a similar experience to another poster here in that the whistle stopped working a very short time after purchasing. The problem appears to be with the fit of the easy fill lid. It allows steam to leak – which doesn’t allow enough pressure to build up behind the whistle at the spout. I’ve also noticed a crack in the plastic below the spout on the front – which has appeared in the last week (no steam is coming from there).
I have a 5 year old easy fill kettle that worked fine until it’s untimely user-caused demise – so I’d say that there is something wrong with a particular batch of these produced in the last year or so that has ill-fitting lids and construction not up to Revere’s usual high standards. AVOID the trouble and get a different Revere kettle without the easy fill lid.
2 Stars Looks nice, but does not whistle
We purchased one of these and really liked it until about 2 weeks later, when the whistle became very quiet and within a few days it stopped whistling at all! We returned it for another one, took it out of the box, and it barely whistled. It looked like steam was escaping from the lid at the top of the kettle. We researched kettles for some time before deciding on this one, and were very happy with our old Revere kettle, which died after several years (due to user error). We’ve tried this one and one other Revere model, and unfortunately we’re back to the drawing board again.
2 Stars Green Rust?
Very nice kettle. The outside copper bottom has started to show green ‘rust spots.’ I have only used the kettle twice. I will get some copper cleaner and see if that works.
5 Stars Great tea kettle!
I’ve had this kettle for about a month now, use it everyday and it really is a good one. I love the opening on top so I can see if I need to get in there and clean out anything. It doesn’t have a loud clear whistle but whistles well enough to let you know when it’s hot. It pours easily and I’m able to pour out the last drop without being burned with steam. It’s a good design without leaks and the handle doesn’t get hot. Of course, it would probably get hot if sitting uncentered over a gas flame. I’d buy another one but I hope I’ll not need to for a very long time.
5 Stars Stop looking–this is perfect
If you actually drink tea you need a teakettle. If a friend drops by and the first thing you do is “put the kettle on” then this is the kettle you need. You can easily fill it from the tap. It whistles like a good kettle should. It’s fast to heat with its copper bottom. The spout is moved with the handy little trigger so you need not burn yourself. It pours where it ’s pointed and does not drip and spill. It is handsome enough just sitting on the stove, but not so stylish you hesitate to use it. Civilized tea drinkers, rejoice and have a cuppa.

5 Stars Great for single servings
Very good quality pans. I like the handles and you can hang the pans from a pot rack. I use these pans multiple times a week, mainly to make eggs “sur la plat” for breakfast or a light meal. Heat pan on the stove top, add butter or oil and (optionally) saute a small amount of onions, peppers or a few spoonfuls of almost any leftovers. Add 1-3 eggs (crack the eggs into a small dish first if you want to be extra careful not to get broken yolks or pieces of shell), and salt, and cook without stirring until whites are beginning to set. Finish by (optionally) topping with a little cheese and then broiling or toasting in a toaster oven until done. This is super easy, easier to do than to describe! Remove from heat and eat right from the pan. Remember the pan is hot, you might need to set it on a potholder at the table. I’m sure these pans would be good for all sorts of single serving dishes, including tapas of course.
5 Stars Superb quality
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality in these pans.
Both are incredibly thick and heavy and it really drives the message home that Calphalon made an effort to create quality for significantly less money than it’s competitor, All-Clad namely.
I would recommend these pans to anyone however please realize that these pans are small as are Tapas in Spain. Do not expect to make a 3 person meal in these pans unless you are feeding a family of Little People.
They are ideal for appetizer sized portions and double as beautiful serving dishes.
5 Stars Tapas Pans
The tapas pans are perfect for individual servings of variety of sauces. Could easily heat the sauce on the stove and bring it to the table.
5 Stars Excellent quality and very versatile!
I bought 2 of these as an experiment to see if they were the same quality as other Calphalon products. I expected them to be maybe thinner or lighter duty even though the picture appears that they are similar to the fine quality in the higher end tri-ply products. I opened them and was VERY pleased to find these are the same quality indeed. They are substantial little pans that make the perfect size for tappas or appetizers where you might want to make several, say, superbowl parties that you want to make several types of dip or nawshy type of foods. Since then, I ordered 3 more sets and now have 8 pans in total. Another nice thing is that they stack great so they really take up little storage space. I even use these to make small omelette’s with various toppings to make breakfast muffins. I use the healthy egg product in the carton and can make a different type of omelettes for everyones taste. If you spray an quick spritz of Pam or non-stick spray in and pop them in the oven, you can make tappas, omelettes or anything you can dream up without having to flip them, and the food slides right out making clean up a breeze. I highly recommend thes little pans…versatile and a good bargain!!!
5 Stars Handy little pans!!
I absolutely love the Calphalon Tri Ply cookware. I have been replacing my teflon pans because of the reported health hazard. Since I was worried about sticking in the stainless pans, I started with one to try it. If you haven’t used stainless before, it takes a little getting used to. To prevent sticking, you have to preheat the pan, then add oil. When the oil is heated, add the food. These little tapa pans are great for individual servings. You can make a dish on the stovetop and then put it in the oven to melt cheese.
